Viola Elevario Ulibarri

Viola Elevario Ulibarri, 65 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on July 8, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM.

Viola was born on May 30, 1958, in Tucumcari, NM to Delfido Elevario and Aurora (Lopez) Elevario.  Viola was raised in New Kirk and Santa Rosa , where she also attended school—graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1976.  Following graduation, Viola attended beauty school in Albuquerque, NM.

On June 23, 1984, Viola married Timothy Manuel Ulibarri at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where she was also a devoted parishioner.  Viola worked as a substitute teacher for Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools and later in the service industry for various local restaurants.  Later, Viola was a homemaker, raising her two sons, and was also a caregiver.

Viola’s greatest joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren.  In her spare time, Viola enjoyed visiting with family and friends and cruising around Santa Rosa and Puerto De Luna.  Viola enjoyed life to its fullest.

Viola is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Timothy, her siblings: Pat Elevario, Sylvia Elevario Gonzales and Horace Elevario and wife: Jenny, her nephews: Christopher Elevario and Joe D. Elevario and her niece: Tara Martinez.

Viola is survived by her sons: Timothy (Jeri) Ulibarri and Travis (Crystal) Ulibarri, both of Albuquerque, her grandchildren: Jayla, Timothy, Jr., Jonathan, Travis, Jr. and Rosita, and her siblings: George (Virginia) Elevario of Albuquerque, Albert (Vera) Elevario of Santa Rosa, Gloria (Patrick) Martinez of Santa Rosa, Esther Blea of Santa Rosa and Monica (Gerald) Urban of Pampa, TX.  Also surviving Viola, are numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, July 14, 2023 from 1-6PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, and Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 8:30 - 9:00AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, beginning at 9AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and will be officiated by Father Moses Nwankwo.  Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, with Bert Elevario, Mario Elevario, Andre Martinez, Ricky Blea, Roberto Hogan Lopez, Manuel Martinez and David Gonzales serving as Pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: Viola’s grandchildren, her family and her classmates from the class of 1976.
