Tommy "Tusa" Maestas

Tommy “Tusa” Maestas, 63, of Dilia, NM passed away Monday evening April 4, 2022, with his family at his side. Tommy was born on June 8, 1958, in Las Vegas, NM to the home of Roberto and Dulcinea (Tenorio) Maestas. A lifelong catholic, he was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Tommy was raised in Dilia and attended school in Anton Chico and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. He was a bartender at Maestas Lounge in Dilia for many years, where he made many friends. He enjoyed horse racing, playing pool, and visiting with family and friends. Tusa will be missed by all, especially by his great niece and cousins who looked forward to their visits with him because he spoiled them with candy and beef jerky, his distinct laugh will never be forgotten. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents: Roberto and Dulcinea Maestas, and brothers: Bobby and Ronnie Maestas. Survivors include his daughter: Sara Castillo of Albuquerque, NM, brother: Gerald Maestas and wife Renee of Dilia, NM, nephews: Robert Maestas of Albuquerque, NM, Amadeo Maestas of Dilia, NM and Ross Maestas of Albuquerque, NM, niece: Patrizia Rodriguez and husband Chris and family of Las Vegas, NM, great-niece: Olivia Maestas of Roswell, NM, aunt: Agnes Olguin of Albuquerque, NM, special cousins: Anthony Maestas (Jennifer Jimenez) of Dilia, NM and Shanika Lucero and husband Kevin of Anton Chico, NM, and numerous family and friends. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by a Communion Service will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10 AM from San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM, with burial to follow at the Dilia Cemetery in Dilia, NM. Urn Bearers will be Robert Maestas, Amadeo Maestas, Olivia Maestas, Anthony Maestas, Harper Lucero, Monty Montano, Delfinio Montano, Louie Cordova and David Cordova.
