Thomas Andrew Garcia

Thomas Andrew Garcia, 38, of Tucumcari, NM passed away at Dan Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Thomas was born on August 8, 1980 in Albuquerque, NM to the home of Ralph Garcia and Virginia (Saiz) Garcia and was reared in Nara Visa, NM.  He attended school in Logan, NM and graduated from Logan High School in 1998. Thomas worked as a reporter for the Quay County Sun and was past President of the Logan American Legion.  A man of Christian devotion, Thomas was a parishioner at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nara Visa.  In his spare time, Thomas volunteered at the Logan American Legion post and was a Green Bay Packers fan.  He was friends with the Quay County Commissioners and enjoyed spending time with all his friends.  He particularly loved spending time with his family and thought the world of his parents, sister, nephews and friends. Thomas is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Felipe and Prudence Saiz, paternal grandparents; Fermin and Nicolasita Garcia, uncles; Phillip, Ruben and Sailo Saiz, Jimmy, Steve and Alfred Garcia and aunts; Lisa Ramirez and Ramona Peachey. He is survived by his parents, sister; Nicole Garcia and husband Shane Gill of Sierra Vista, AZ, nephews; Ayden Thomas Garcia-Gill  and Ezra Ezekial Garcia-Gill, uncles; Robert (Jan) Saiz of Friona, TX, and  Paul Saiz of Clovis, aunts; Maryann (Kenny) Prior of Clovis, NM, Irene (Bob) Wilde of Beaverton, OR, Sandra Larson of Manistee, MI, Judy (Dan) Menold of Torrance, CA, Lucy Garcia of Amarillo, TX, Rita Crespin of Tucumcari, NM, and Tony (Efanita) Garcia of Dumas, TX, John (Jane) Garcia of Santa Fe, NM, Fermin Garcia of Logan, NM and Joe (Roberta) Garcia of Tucumcari, NM, as well as numerous cousins, family and friends. Thomas also had a deep affection for his fur family, his cats, Toby and Brownie. Visitation will be at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari from 6:00-7:00 P.M. on August 17, 2018 and 9:00-10:00 A.M. on August 18, 2018.Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary is scheduled for Friday, August 17, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. from Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari, with the Reverend Father John Paul Afuecheta officiating.  Interment will follow at Logan Cemetery in Logan, NM. Serving as Pallbearers are; Shane Gill, Nathan Saiz, Philip Saiz, III, Chad Garcia, Kenny Garcia, Jacob Henderson, Chase Hittson, Clay Huffman, Jimmy Miller, George Montano, Todd Osborn and Mucio Apodaca.
