Terry A. Griego

Terry Griego, 83, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2020 at her residence in Santa Rosa surrounded by her family. She was born on July 31, 1936 in San Ignacio, N.M. to the home of Nicanor and Flora (Segura) Romero. Terry married Arturo Griego on November 22, 1960 in Santa Rosa and raised a daughter and three sons. Terry worked as a housekeeper at various local motels/hotels for most of her lifetime. She was a member of St. Rose de Lima Parish and was also a member of the Campos Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, dancing and listening to Spanish music. Terry is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arturo, an infant son and her brothers; Agripino and Benny Romero. Survivors include her daughter Juanita Romero of Santa Rosa, her sons; Robert (Tina) Griego of Bloomfield, N.M., Richard (Yvette) Griego and Ray Griego of Santa Rosa, N.M. along with 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two on the way. Also surviving are her brothers, Nick ( Faby ) Romero of Bernalillo, N.M., Joseph (Cecilia) Romero of Santa Rosa, N.M. Tommy (Gloria) Gallegos of Mora, N.M., sisters-in-law; Lydia Martinez of Santa Rosa, Ida Lopez of Santa Rosa, Clorie(Steve) Gallegos of Puerto de Luna, N.M., Nancy (Chris) Gonzalez of Los Lunas, N.M., and brother-in-law Louie Talbott of Salineville, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. The family regrets that the services will not be open to the public due to the statewide restrictions pertaining to the COVID-19 Virus. In cooperation with the Governor’s order, services are limited to the immediate family only. However, the family does kindly ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers. A funeral Mass was held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 with Father Christopher Bernabe officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
