Memorial graveside service 1:00 pm Monday, July 19, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn, New Mexico. Rudy R. Chavez, 62 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at UNMH in Albuquerque, NM. Rudy was born on November 15, 1958 in Santa Fe, NM to Nestor Chavez and Diana (Herrera) Chavez. Rudy was raised in Santa Rosa where he also attended school, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1977. Rudy worked in road construction for Hamilton Construction and A and B Construction. Rudy was a parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Some of his hobbies included fishing, hiking and wood working. However, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; Eulalio and Cecilia Herrera and a nephew; Jared Chavez. Rudy is survived by his children; Delano Chavez, Vicente Chavez and Dennica Chavez, all of Santa Rosa, his grandchildren; Mikaya Robles, Lukas Chavez and Jenekah Chavez and his siblings; Levi Chavez, Michael Chavez (Louise), Rita Singletary (John), Robert Chavez (Jessica), Jimmy Chavez (Janie) and Yolanda Chavez.
