Roberto Saenz

Roberto Saenz, 71 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away at his home on January 11, 2025 following an extended battle with Leukemia. He was born September 19, 1953 in Alice, Texas the son of Rafael and Mirtala (Barreras) Saenz. He grew up in Alice, Texas and attended and graduated from Ben Bolt High School in Ben Bolt, Texas.

Roberto worked in the oil field industry as a “Tool Pusher” and consultant.

He made his home in Yeso, NM in 2004 before moving to Fort Sumner in 2020. His pastimes were hunting, fishing, and all outdoor sports.

Roberto is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Adan Saenz, Ramiro Saenz, Rafael Saenz, and a sister Celestina Barbie.

Survivors include a son Roberto O. Saenz of College Station, Texas, a sister Nelda Villareal of Alice, Texas along with a host of nieces and nephews including Rebecca Saenz of Lubbock, TX, Roman Saenz of Rios, TX, and Raul Saenz of Houston, TX.
