Ricardo Merenciano Romero

Ricardo Merenciano Romero, 42 of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away on July 8, 2023 at UNMH in Albuquerque.

Ricardo was born on March 16, 1981 in Ft. Sumner, NM to Merenciano Romero and Mary (Jasper) Romero.  Ricardo was raised in Santa Rosa, where he also attended school.  Ricardo was a parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.  For the last 22 years, Ricardo made his home in Albuquerque, where he worked in various construction jobs.

Ricardo enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, he enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Diego and particularly loved spending time with his Dad and enjoyed his Dad’s cooking.

Ricardo is preceded in death by his mother: Mary, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Ricardo is survived by his father: Merenciano of Santa Rosa, his husband: Mark Romero and stepson: Anthony Romero, of Albuquerque, and his siblings: Florence (Larry) Trujillo of Farmington, NM, Anthony (Sara) Romero of Hubert, NC, Marie (Daniel) Burguete and Tricia (Ike) Gauna, both of Santa Rosa.  Ricardo is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 18, 2023, beginning at 9AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, with Father Moses Nwankwo officiating.  Interment of cremains will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery with Ike Gauna, Rico Burguete, Daniel Burguete and Michael Lee Saiz serving as Urn Bearers.
