Raynaldo "Ray" Gallegos

Raynaldo Gallegos, a lifelong resident of Vaughn, NM was called home on April 24, 2020. He was born on May 9, 1928 in Cedarville, NM to the late Juan Gallegos and Concha Tenorio-Gallegos of the family home. Raynaldo is preceded in death by his first wife; Isabel Gallegos, sisters; Ramona Lucero, Emma Blythe and brothers; Benny Gallegos, Mike Gallegos, Alfonso Gallegos, Patricio Gallegos, and David Gallegos. Raynaldo is survived by his spouse Flora M. Gallegos of the family home, son Richard Gallegos (Peggy) of Vaughn, NM, daughter Nancy Saiz of Los Lunas, and son Alfred Gallegos (Marie) of Albuquerque. Step-son James Ortiz (Donna), step-daughters; Debbie Quintana (Leonard), Sylvia Zamora (Jake) of Villanueva, step-daughter Elena Amaral (Steve) of Las Cruces, step-son Patrick Ortiz (Lorraine), and step-daughter Valerie Villanueva (Joseph) of Rio Rancho. Grandchildren Jason Gallegos, Jarrod Gallegos, Eric Gallegos, Amanda Saiz, Moises Saiz (Chantel), Donna Rigdon (Brian), Ginjah Miller and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends. Raynaldo Gallegos served his country during World War II where he received the following medals; World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan - he was a proud veteran. He retired from New Mexico State Highway Department. He was a lifelong Catholic and a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM. Raynaldo or Uncle Ray, as he was known by many, enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date from St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial of cremains at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn, NM. However, the family does kindly ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Also, if you call the funeral home we will be happy to write your name in the register book on your behalf.
