Randy Lucero, 67 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away on December 17, 2020 in Santa Rosa. Randy was born on May 20, 1953 to Candelario Lucero and Marcelina (Chavez) Lucero in Santa Rosa. Randy, who was also known as “Pachuca”, was raised in Santa Rosa where he attended school and graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1972. Randy served his country in the U.S. Army and when discharged remained active in the Army National Guard. Randy worked at gas stations in Santa Rosa as well as doing odd jobs. Randy was a parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He enjoyed westerns and joking with his friends and family, however, his greatest joy in life came from the time he spent with his family, grandchildren and friends. Randy is preceded in death by his parents; Candelario and Marcelina Lucero. Randy is survived by his daughter; Sarita Lucero-Campos (Steve) and grandchildren; Sarah Campos and Seth Campos, all of Albuquerque, NM, his brothers; Manuel Lucero of Santa Rosa, Rex Lucero of Los Lunas, NM, Isaac Chavez of Santa Rosa and Gran Fe Baca of La Mar, Colorado and his sister; Alice Lucero of La Mar, Colorado as well as numerous family and friends. Interment with military honors was held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2022 at La Morada Cemetery, Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Serving as Pallbearers were Steve Campos, Frank Chavez, Vince Lucero, Mark Gallegos, Rudy Chavez and Vincente Chavez. Honorary Pallbearer will be Eddie Garcia. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Social Distancing guidelines, services will be private and limited to the immediate family. We kindly ask that you keep Randy and his family in your prayers.
