Quirino “Parson” Villanueva, 54 of Tecolotito, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Sunday, June 10, 2018, following an illness. Quirino was born in Tecolotito, NM to the home of Prudencio Villanueva and Maria (Urioste) Villanueva. Quirino made his home in Tecolotito where he worked as a mechanic and laborer. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM, and also was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. Quirino is preceded in death by his father Prudencio Villanueva, sister; Irene Matta and brother-in-law; Larry Matta, Jr. He is survived by his wife Laura Villanueva of Tecolotito, his children; Pimenio Villanueva, Hilario (Brianna Baca) Villanueva, Ashley (Joaquin) Gallegos, Quirino Villanueva, Selena Villanueva, Derrick Villanueva, and Salome Villanueva-all of Tecolotito. In addition, Quirino is survived by his mother; Maria E. Urioste and grandchildren; Fabian Chavez, Annalea Villanueva, Shardinay Villanueva, Geronimo Villanueva, Estevan Villanueva, Alexis Villanueva, Hilario Villanueva, Joaquin Gallegos, Khloe Gallegos, Carter Gallegos and Laura Villanueva. Also surviving are his siblings; Roger (Trish) Villanueva, Richard Villanueva, Domingo (Irene) Villanueva, Angelica (Luis) Ceja-Segura, Benerito (Ruby) Urioste, Christine Villanueva and Dorothy Villanueva. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be said on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico at 6:00 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 15, 2018, at San Jose Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Interment will follow at Sangre De Cristo Cemetery in Upper Anton Chico. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 1-4 P.M. at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, NM. Serving as Pallbearers are Pimenio Villanueva, Hilario Villanueva, Quirino Villanueva, Jr., Derrick Villanueva, Joaquin Gallegos, Domingo Villanueva, Charlie Romero and Peter Urioste. Honorary Pallbearers are Benerito Urioste, Prudencio Villanueva and Jonathan Lucero. All arrangements have been entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S. Third St., Santa Rosa, NM.
