Paul James Jaramillo, Jr.

Paul James Jaramillo, Jr., 48 of Moriarty, NM, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 4, 2018 following an illness. Paul was born in Las Vegas, NM to the home of Paul Jaramillo, Sr. and Mary Saiz on July 15, 1969.  He was reared in Anton Chico, NM where his family made their home.  He attended schools in Anton Chico and graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1987. Paul made his home in Anton Chico and more recently in Moriarty where he worked for the State of New Mexico for 21 years as a Correctional Officer. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also an avid gun collector.  His hobbies further included welding and auto mechanics.  Paul was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico and also took great joy in spending time with his family. Paul is preceded in death by his paternal Grandmother; Magdalena Jaramillo and maternal Grandparents; Adelaido Saiz and Dolores (Barela) Saiz. He is survived by his mother; Mary (Saiz) Chavez of Roswell, NM, father and mother; Paul and Lucy Jaramillo, Sr. of Anton Chico, NM, his wife; Consuelo Jaramillo of Moriarty, NM, sons; Phillip Salazar of California, Paul James (Ellena) Jaramillo, III of Santa Rosa, NM, Jeremy Jaramillo of Anton Chico, NM and grandsons; Paul Jaramillo IV and Chris Jaramillo of Santa Rosa.  Paul is also survived by his sisters; Rosie Jaramillo of Los Lunas, NM and Jasmine Jaramillo and Samantha Jaramillo of Anton Chico.  Also surviving are a niece; Amy Aragon of Santa Rosa and nephew; Chris Aragon of Los Lunas. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. from Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.  On Monday, June 11, 2018 Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be said at 9:00 A.M. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico, with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating.  Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico.Pallbearers will be Damian Chavez, Joseph Jaramillo, Evaristo "Bamba" Tenorio, Randy Tenorio, Gilbert "Gibby" Romero, Cecilio Villanueva and Estevan Villanueva. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 8, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 P.M., Saturday, June 9, 2018 from1:00-5:00 P.M. and Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 1:00-5:00 P.M., at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.
