Patsy Madrid

Patricia "Patsy" Madrid, 79 of Vaughn, New Mexico passed away at her home Saturday, January 19, 2019. She was born July 09, 1939 in Vaughn to the home of Eulalio and Jacoba (Sisneros) Madrid. She attended school at Vaughn. Patsy worked for many years as a waitress in Vaughn. Patsy was a lifelong Vaughn resident where she raised her five children and also helped raise her late sister's children and had a helping hand in raising many, many more. Patsy was a proud Vaughn Eagle fan. Her past times were playing Bingo at the Vaughn Senior Center and spending time with her kids and grand kids. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Amelia Madrid, two sons-in-law Vincent Sanchez and Aaron Nelson. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Patsy will be missed by her family. Survivors include three sons Norman Madrid (Gloria) of Las Vegas, NM, Mark Madrid (Lee) of Vaughn, Robert Madrid (Dommy) of Oceanside, CA, two daughters Roberta Sanchez (+Vincent) of Vaughn and Shellia Armijo (Chris) of Vaughn. Also surviving are seven siblings, two brothers Estevan Madrid of Vaughn, Manuel Madrid (Rita) of Albuquerque, five sisters Betty Martinez of Roswell, Rosana Adkins of Roswell, Terry Rosales (Chayo) of Roswell, Fatima Garcia (Lencho) of Clovis, and Sylvia Rodriguez (E.J.) of Farwell, TX, along with 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Holy rosary will be recited at 10:00 am followed by Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, January 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, NM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Father Leonard Paskus officiating. Pallbearers will include Aaron Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Angel Madrid, Charlie Jinzo, Eddie Quinonez, and Aaron Sanchez.
