Patrick J. Chavez

Patrick Joshua Chavez, 33 of Santa Rosa, NM was born on May 18, 1987 in Santa Rosa to Patrick R. Chavez and Diane M. Chavez. Patrick graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 2005. Patrick passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2020. He married his long-time girlfriend on January 10, 2015 in Rio Rancho, NM. He was the assistant chief of the local fire station. He was always there to lend a helping hand, no matter what. Patrick was a wonderful husband, friend, son, uncle, brother and most of all, a wonderful father. Patrick loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He loved being with his family. He loved being a part of the fire department and making life-long friends. He loved his fellow brothers and only wanted the best for them. Patrick is preceded in death by his sister; Denise, his niece; Jaelynn, his brother-in-law; Chris Rodarte, his aunt; Veronica Gutierrez, his grandmother; Terry Gutierrez, grandpo; Lorenzo Chavez, and other aunts and uncles, as well as his nephew; Jayaire Sarabia. Patrick is survived by his wife; Nadine and his two children; Amillia and Howard Chavez, his parents; Patrick and Diane, sister; Victoria, maternal grandfather; Tony Gutierrez, paternal grandmother; Clara Chavez, his in-laws, nephews and nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his fellow brothers in the fire department and many wonderful friends. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic Social Distancing guidelines, services will be private and limited to the immediate family. We kindly ask that you keep Patrick and his family in your prayers. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, December 14, 2020 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery with Javante Chavez, Christian Chavez, Derrick Chavez, Devin Chavez, Christopher Rodarte, Rocky Manka, Gilbert Lopez, Jason Storey, and Jessica Gutierrez serving as Pallbearers.
