Ora Belle Yocom

Ora Belle (Rich) Yocom, 97 departed from this temporary earthly home and arrived at her forever heavenly home August 24, 2024. She will be missed by so many, for she was a blessing to all who knew her.

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is Love." 

Love is the word that best describes Belle Yocom's life. Love for her parents, George and Georgia Rich, and love for her eleven brothers and sisters who have all preceded her in death. 

She had a forever love for her singing/guitar playing farmer husband, Wallace Lawrence Yocom. Wallace died of Alzheimer's disease in April of 1996, just a month before they would have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. She mourned his passing for the rest of her life. 

Belle had a great love for family: her three son's and their wives-Michael Lawrence Yocom and his wife Pam, Kenneth Paul Yocom and his wife Joyce, Stanley Keith Yocom and his wife Sharon, and her daughter Bonnie Ellen (Yocom) Spencer and her husband Richard, who passed away in 2021. Her love of family was also shared with twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Along with many life long friends that she loved dearly. 

She had a love for taking care of God's creation. She showed that love by helping run a farm successfully for over 40 years, and in growing fantastic gardens and beautiful yards. 

She loved to work. She was a farmer, school bus driver, nurse, mother, Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and caregiver for a terminally ill husband for over 15 years of her life. 

But most of all, Belle was in love with her Heavenly Father and with her Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived in obedience to the Holy Spirit leading and guidance. She loved the Word of God, especially prophecy. 

Belle's love will live forever in the lives of her family and friends who are looking forward to that great reunion with her in heaven. 

Visitation will be from 1pm to 6pm on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Chavez Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Chavez Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be all of her grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her granddaughters, and great grandchildren.
