Mary Ramona Gutierrez

Mary R. Gutierrez, 89 formerly of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024.

Mary was born on January 18, 1935 in Santa Rosa, NM to Leandro Pacheco and Ignacita (Montoya) Pacheco.  Mary was raised in Santa Rosa, where she also attended school.  Mary married Richard Gutierrez on December 17, 1957 at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.

Mary worked as a waitress at Jack’s Café and later earned a degree in Culinary Arts from Luna Vocational Technical Institute.

Currently, Mary was living in Las Vegas, NM and in her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and cooking.  Mary also loved to take care of children, and particularly enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Richard, her children: Ronnie Gutierrez and Kandi Gutierrez and her siblings: Mary Hilda Pacheco, Clara Romero, Gilbert Pacheco, Louie Pacheco, Maggie Gutierrez, Lucia Gutierrez and Severo Aragon.

Mary is survived by her children: Elizabeth A. Gutierrez of Albuquerque, Richard L. (Rhonda) Gutierrez of Roswell, Randall (Delores) Gutierrez of Tijeras, Annette Gutierrez of Albuquerque and Brooklyn M. Aragon of Washington DC, her siblings: Ernest (Money)-Sophie Pacheco of Albuquerque and Josie (Tommy) Martinez of Santa Rosa.  Mary is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, April 12, 2024, from 1-5PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be Friday, April 12, 2024 at 6PM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, with Father Moses Nwankwo officiating the service.

Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa with Thomas Veit, Xavier Tenorio, Ernest Chavez, Dominic Chavez, Gilbert Chavez and Glenn Chavez serving as Pallbearers.
