Services for Maria Lucero will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday, September 13, 2018, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, September 14, 2018 with burial of cremains to follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Father Sotero Sena will officiate.Maria Lorraine Lucero, 43 of Clovis passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX following an illness. Her family was at her bedside. Maria was born November 27, 1974 in Fort Sumner to the home of Manuel Lucero and Patsy Lorraine Hawthorne Lucero. She grew up in Fort Sumner and attended Fort Sumner schools.Maria loved spending time with her family and friends, she cared for her special fur friends, and enjoyed collecting knick knacks.She made her home in Clovis for the past 15 years.Maria is preceded in death by her mother Patsy Lucero in 2013, her paternal grandfather Santiago L. Lucero in 2003, maternal grandmother Edna Lorraine Propps, and maternal grandfather Afton Hawthorne. Maria was a loving mother to her four sons Christopher J. Lucero of Clovis, Cameron Lucero (Heather) of Fort Sumner, Chandler Lucero of Clovis and Clayton Lucero of Clovis, her father Manuel Lucero of Fort Sumner, paternal grandmother Romana Lucero of Fort Sumner along with a host of other aunts, uncles, many cousins, other family members and friends.Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral home, 830 N.
