Maria "Juanita" Flores

Maria “Juanita” Flores passed away peacefully on March 13, 2021 at Guadalupe County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Juanita was born on May 2, 1929 in Puerto De Luna, NM to Honorato Flores and Antonia (Chavez) Flores. Juanita attended schools in Puerto De Luna, NM and Santa Rosa, NM, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1949. Juanita was a parishioner at Nuestra Señora Del Refugio Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna. After retiring from the State of New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division in Santa Fe, NM in 1992, Juanita moved back to Puerto De Luna to the family home and enjoyed working the family farm—gardening PDL Chile. Juanita also loved to crochet and sew, paint pottery and spend time with her family. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, brother; Cipriano Flores and his wife Dolores, sisters; Rita F. Sanchez and Predicanda A. Flores and brother-in-law; Liborio “Lee” Garcia. Juanita is survived by her brother; Manuel (Mary) Flores of Santa Rosa, NM, sister; Martina Garcia of Vaughn, NM, brother-in-law; Lorenzo “Tudy” Sanchez of Santa Rosa, NM, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, family and friends. Juanita will be laid to rest at El Calvario Cemetery in Puerto De Luna with Joseph Flores, Manuel M. Flores, Michael Gauna, Michael Brochu, Jorome Gomez, Kameron Gauna, Konnor Gauna, Santiago Chavez and Christopher Eastham serving as Pallbearers. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Social Distancing guidelines, services will be private and limited to the immediate family. We kindly ask that you keep Juanita and her family in your prayers.
