Maria Teresa Cordova

Maria Teresa Cordova, 80 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away at her home on Sunday, March 04, 2018. She was born March 24, 1937 in La Loma, NM to the home of Ramon and Felicitas (Gonzalez) Jaramillo. Maria married Nicacio Cordova in 1954 at Anton Chico. She worked for several years as a housekeeper at motels in Santa Rosa and Clovis. She also worked for Denny's in Clovis. She made her home in Clovis in 1990. Maria served as a Foster Parent at Lockwood Elementary School. Maria was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis and San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Nicacio Cordova in 1985, a daughter Annabelle Cordova in 1976, two sons Nicacio Jr. in 2014 and Ramon Cordova in 2015, and a grandson Jose Martinez Jr. in 2009.Survivors include three daughters Esther Mata of Santa Rosa, Christine Sena (Gene) of Clovis, Theresa Martinez (Jose) of Inglewood, CA, three sons Anthony Cordova of Clovis, John Cordova (Arena) of Anton Chico, and Hector Cordova of Clovis. Also surviving are five sisters Gabby Lucero (Neal) of La Junta, CO, Mary Ann Aguilar of Santa Rosa, Adelina Perea of Santa Rosa, Magdalena Cos (Angel) of Paloma, CA, and Antonia Marquez of Clovis, along with 20 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.A rosary and funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 09, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis, NM with Father Eli Valadez officiating. A second rosary and funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 10, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Pallbearers will include Cipriano Martinez, Maria Martinez, Vicente Cordova, Jose Federico, Abran Cordova, and Maricruz Cordova. Honorary bearers will include Beatrice Sena, Dwayne Velasquez, Gerald Lucero, and John Cordova.Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
