Maria A. Romero

Maria A. Romero, 60 of Vaughn, NM, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. Maria was born on September 20, 1961 in Las Vegas, NM to Andalecio Romero and Rita (Urioste) Romero. Maria was raised in Tecolotito, NM and attended school in Anton Chico and Santa Rosa. Maria was a parishioner at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, and worked as a front desk clerk at Travelodge in Vaughn. In her spare time, Maria enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her granddaughter, Araceli. Maria is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Macedon Romero, Jose Estevan Romero, Larry Romero, Anita Romero, Theresa Romero and Patricia Romero. Maria is survived by her husband: Humberto Lopez, daughter: Wendy Maestas, son: Jesse Maestas and granddaughter: Araceli Maestas—all of Vaughn, NM. Maria is also survived by her brothers: Arturo (Gladys) Romero and Felipe Romero of Tecolotito and Jose Eufemio Romero of Anton Chico, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian burial, will be Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, with services officiated by Father Timothy Meurer.
