Margie Lee Barnett

Margie Lee Barnett, 90 of Tucumcari, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on January 3, 2024. 

Margie was born on May 13, 1933 in Hollis, Oklahoma to William John Easter and Katherene (Baccus) Easter.  Margie grew up in Hollis, where she attended school and graduated from high school there.  After graduation, Margie moved to Tucumcari where she owned and operated Margie’s Beauty Salon, Tucumcari Floral and La Potpourri for 53 years.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Bill Easter, Lloyd Easter and Johnny Easter and four sisters: Darlene Stegall, Irene Hooks and Billie Watkins and Revena Johnson.

Margie is survived by her children: Joe (Carol) Barnett, Rhonda Whitzel and Donnie Barnett, her grand-daughter: Kylee (Steven) Calbert, her grandson: Shawn Barnett and one great-grand-daughter.

Visitation for Margie will be Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10-11AM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Tucumcari.

Funeral Service for Margie will be Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11AM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Tucumcari, with Father Simon Carian officiating.

Interment in the family plot will be Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2PM--Central Time, at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma.

Honorary Pallbearers for Margie will be her Bridge family and Caregivers.
