Manuel Garcia Jr.

Manuel Garcia, Jr., 43 of Lubbock, TX passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at University Medical Center in Lubbock following an illness. He was born October 30, 1977 in Lubbock. Manuel grew up in Duran and Vaughn, NM and Lubbock and Dallas, TX. He attended school in Vaughn. Manuel married Nicole Antoinette Garcia on June 30, 2017 in Albuquerque. They made their home in Lubbock where Manuel worked in housing construction as a finishing carpenter. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Duran, NM. Manuel loved to draw, he enjoyed playing the drums and listening to Metallica music. Manuel was preceded in death by his mother Martha Garcia in January 2021 and his maternal grandmother Lucy Samaniego. Survivors include his wife Nicole Garcia of the home in Lubbock, TX a daughter Valerie Garcia of Abilene, TX, his father Manuel Garcia Sr., of Duran, NM, and two step-sons Isaiah Garcia and Elijah Lara both of Lubbock, TX, and one brother Nickolaus Garcia of Duran, NM along with a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Duran, NM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 2, 2021 with Father Timothy Meurer officiating. Interment will follow at San Juan de Bautista Cemetery in Duran. Pallbearers will include Manuel Garcia Sr., Nickolaus Garcia, Chris Samaniego, Shawn Samaniego, Isaiah Garcia, Elijah Lara, Vincent Rodriguez, and Julian Mondragon.
