Manuel S. Baca, Jr.

Manuel S. Baca, Jr. passed away on June 15, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 79. He was born on June 2, 1944 in Santa Rosa to Manuel Baca, Sr. and Estanislada (Gonzales) Baca.

Manuel spent his entire life in Santa Rosa where he was raised and attended school. He was a land surveyor for over 20 years and retired from Guadalupe County as the Project Coordinator.

He was a devout parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church and enjoyed socializing with his friends at Campos Senior Center in his free time. Manuel had many hobbies including fishing, watching old Western movies and reading.

Manuel is preceded in death by his wife Dora, his parents Manuel Baca, Sr., and Estanislada (Gonzales) Baca, his brother Eduardo Baca and sister Stella Chavez.

He is survived by his children; Bobby Baca and Julian (Tammy) Baca both of Santa Rosa; grandchildren Jasmine Baca, Bobby Baca Jr., Melissa Baca, Julianne (Joe) Lucero, Heather Baca (Jesse Garcia), Sheila Soliz, Camila Soliz, Joe Grant - all of Albuquerque, Shyann(Eric) Sena of Santa Rosa; Jonathan (Robin) Carroll and Daniel Carroll - both of Washington; sister Celina Chavez; niece Betty Jo Chavez - both of Albuquerque, along with many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family, and friends.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 9:30am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, The Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa in the family plot. Urn bearers will be Robert M. Baca, Stanley Chavez, Ricky Chavez, Adolph Romero, Jr.,  Lee Reyna, James (Bozo) Cordova, Herman Cordova, and Joey Romero.
