Kathleen “Kathy” A. Lopez, 60, of Tucumcari, NM passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, following an illness. Kathy was born in Clovis, NM to the home of Leo Lopez and Eva (Mares) Lopez on November 4, 1957. She attended school in Clovis and later worked at a grain plant and in the potato fields. Later in life, Kathy cooked for the Singleton Ranch cowboys, and was known for her Spanish rice and tortillas. Being a long-time resident of both Tucumcari and Santa Rosa, Kathy was a parishioner at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church and at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Alfred Aragon, brother; Freddy Lopez, sister-in-law; Joyce Lopez, mother-in-law; Connie Aragon and nephew; Benjamin Selgado. She is survived by her son; Nathan (Valerie) Lopez of Tucumcari, daughters; Kimberly (Jacob Salas) Lopez of Santa Rosa and Noel (JR) Urban of Santa Rosa, siblings; Angie Orosco, Barbara Lopez, Donna Lopez, Mia Lopez and Leo Lopez, all of Clovis. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Nathaniel Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Breana Lopez, Eric Lopez, Joshua Lopez, Gabriel Perez, Jasmine Perez, Isaiah Lopez, Deven Lopez, Marcos Rodarte, Jalyn Urban and Noah Salas, three great-grandchildren; Kaenan Lopez, Ana Lopez and Mari Lopez, and numerous family and friends. Kathy’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. All services have been entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S. Third St., Santa Rosa, NM 575-472-3369.
