Juan “Johnny” Cordova, of Logan, NM passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with his family by his side.
Juan was born on April 9, 1954, in Logan, NM to Juan and Tomasita (Ramirez) Cordova. Juan was raised in Logan, where he attended school and made his home. He was very active in the Logan community and was well-known to all as he made friends with everyone. Juan was active in American Legion Post 77, in Sons of the American Legion and in Special Olympics.
In his spare time, Juan enjoyed sitting in the patio coloring, listening to music and dancing. He enjoyed cruising around the community, eating enchiladas at Leal’s and loved all his animals.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents: Juan and Tomasita Cordova, his brothers: Victor Cordova and Henry Cordova and his sisters: Dora Cordova and Carmen Garcia.
Juan is survived by his brother: Lawrence Cordova of Clovis, NM and his sisters: Louisa (Manuel) Trujillo and Kate (Richard) Moore—both of Logan, NM. Juan is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, February 24, 2025, from 1-2pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Logan, NM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 24, 2025, at 2pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Logan with Father Cameron Degani officiating the service.
Interment will follow at Logan Cemetery with Bobby Calbert, Luis Salinas, Kevin Morrison, Jimmy Moralez, Mike Roberts and Ernest Cordova serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Trujillo, Antonio Cordova, Tommy Cordova, Jimmy Ramirez, Art Cordova, Carlos Cardenas, Moe Ramirez and Jody Ferguson.
