Joseph “Danny” Cordova, 75, a lifelong resident of Anton Chico, NM died peacefully on August 12, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He died after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Chronic Pulmonary Disease. Joseph was born on April 21, 1946 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Fidel Cordova Jr. and Adelaida Romo. Joseph served in the Army as a Green Beret. He worked as an electrician in various communities. He enjoyed being outdoors where he enjoyed the onrush of scenery, mountains, trees and the sounds of nature. Most of all he enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents: Fidel Jr. and Adelaida, brother: Phillip Cordova, and stepfather: Carlos Maestas. Joseph is survived by his children: Deborah Cordova, Elizabeth Cordova and Gene Cordova, Grandchildren: Arianna Cordova, Melinda Murillo, Nadia Nessim, Lauren Cordova, Pierre Ortega, Violet Rodriguez and Zayben Lopez. His siblings: Dicky Cordova, Sandra Cordova and Leroy Cordova. Danny is also survived by many close friends and many more dear relatives. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 1-4pm at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, NM. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 7pm at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10am at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, with Father Timothy Meurer officiating. Burial of cremains with full Military Honors will follow at the Danny Cordova Family Plot. Urn Bearers will be Fidel Cordova, Nathan Cordova, Gene Cordova, Louie Cordova, David Cordova, J.J. Velasquez, Arnold Ulibarri, Freddie Romero, Martin Ortega, Carl Mueller, Max Salazar, Pierre Ortega, and Ignacio Pimentel. Thank you, Dad, for all that you have done. You took great care of your children and grandchildren. You loved us all from the very start with your warm, kind and loving heart. Thank you, dad, for being so strong while teaching us right from wrong. If anytime we had a problem, you were always there to help us get through it. You lifted us up, when we were feeling blue, thank you Dad we can always count on you! You were such an awesome father! The love you showed was like no other.
