Jose Pastor Maldonado-Ruiz

Jose P. Maldonado-Ruiz (Pastor), 69, of Tucumcari, NM, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in Tucumcari. He was born on December 25, 1954, in Matamoros, Mexico. He made his home in Tucumcari, NM, in the early 80’s. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari and a PSI supporter. Pastor worked in the community for several years at K-Mart, Pachecos Construction, and Van Ark Care Center. Pastor enjoyed adult coloring books, reading, singing, playing his guitar, and spending quality time with his god-daughter, Julie Ann Archuleta, his best friend whom he considers his brother, Joseph Marroquin Sr., as well as many nieces and nephews, and his friends in the community. 

Pastor always went above and beyond to lend a helping hand and brought joy to others through his love for music. His dedication to his community and his passion for music touched many lives and brought happiness to everyone who knew him.

Pastor is preceded in death by the love of his life, his companion, Brigida Ann Anaya. Survivors include god-daughter Julie Ann Archuleta of Tucumcari, NM, best friend Joseph Marroquin Sr. (Marcella) of Tucumcari, NM, along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends that always considered him family. 

We ask that you keep Pastor and his family in your prayers. 

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, NM, with Father Cameron Degani officiating. 

Graveside interment of cremains will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fort Sumner, NM, with Father Sotero Sena officiating.

 The Urn bearer is his god-daughter, Julie Ann Archuleta. 

Honorary bearers are Joseph Marroquin Jr., Robert Marroquin, Willie Archuleta, Michael Marroquin, Kimberly Garcia, Jolene Garcia, Ted Lovato, and David Quintana.
