Jose Angel Gandara Roacho passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Vaughn, NM.

Jose was born on December 31, 1948 in Matamoros, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose Angel Gandara Prieto and Maria De Jesus Roacho Moreno. Jose was raised in Santa Rosalia, Chihuahua, Mexico, where he also attended Benito Juarez Elementary School.

Jose married Guadalupe Sandoval on August 13, 1977 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico. Jose was a ranch foreman in La Veta, Colorado and a general contractor for some 30 years, retiring in 2022. Jose will be remembered as a hardworking man.

Jose was in the Rurales Reserves in Mexico and a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church in La Veta, Colorado. In his spare time, Jose enjoyed the horse races, however, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Patricia Elizabeth Gandara Roacho and Gloria Rosa Gandara Roacho.

Jose is survived by his wife: Guadalupe, his children: Jose Juan Gandara Villela, Alma Rosa Gandara Villela (Ernesto Cazares) and Nolberto Gandara Villela, his grandchildren: Bianca, Brisa, Jose Angel and Segen. Jose is also survived by his siblings: Salomon Gandara Roacho, Jaime Corral Roacho, Roque Ramon Corral Roacho and Soledad Leticia Corral Roacho, as well as many family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 1-4PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.

Services will take place at a later date at Santa Rosalia Catholic Church in Santa Rosalia, Chihuahua, Mexico, with burial to follow at Cueva Blanca Ranch in Santa Rosalia.
