Jose D. Federico

Jose D. Federico “Yo Yo”, 21 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM. Jose was born on July 1, 1997 in Las Vegas, NM to the home of David Federico and Rebecca (Velasquez) Federico.  Jose was reared in Santa Rosa where he attended school, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 2016.  Jose enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was an avid skateboarder and took the time to teach his cousins to skateboard.  He also liked to make friendship bracelets and enjoyed watching football games, as he was a Raiders fan.  Furthermore, he was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Jose is preceded in death by his father; David Federico, uncle; Lawrence Federico, great-grandparents; Arturo and Esmeralda Velasquez, great-grandmother; Felicita Jaramillo and special uncle Jerry Gonzales. Jose is survived by his mother; Rebecca Federico of Santa Rosa, siblings; Dwayne Velasquez of Santa Rosa, Adrian Romero and Dori Urioste of Tecolotito, Carlos Romero,  Lawrence Federico,  Juanita Federico and Christina (Herman) Aguilar, all of  Santa Rosa, Erica Federico, Shelli Federico, David Federico, Danny Federico, Vanessa Federico and Desiree Federico,  all of California.  He is also survived by paternal grandmother; Jessie Rivera of California, maternal grandmother; Esther Mata (Julio Vigil) of Santa Rosa, maternal grandparents; Delfinio and Mariana Velasquez of La Loma, special aunt; Mary Ann Aguilar of Santa Rosa, aunt and uncle; Bernadette and Timothy Nilsson of Ecuador, aunt and uncle Gabby and John Martinez of Albuquerque, cousins; Felicity and Jacob Nilsson and Katalea and Jian Carlo Martinez, Godparents; Mario Trujillo and Camila Hoehne, as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Monday, April 15 and Tuesday, April 16 at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa and one hour prior to the services at the church. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico, with burial to follow at Sangre De Cristo Cemetery in Upper Anton Chico, with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Adrian Romero, Carlos Romero, Luis Ortiz, Julio Vigil, Juaquin Baca, Quirino Villanueva, Jr., Troy Lopez, and Ruben Romero.  Also serving will be all Jose’s cousins.
