Jose Alfonso Encinias

Jose Alfonso Encinias, 71 of Tecolotito, NM, passed away on May 12, 2022 in Santa Fe, NM. Jose was born on July 6, 1950 in Tecolotito, NM to Alfonso Encinias and Dionicia (Romero) Encinias. Jose was a life-long resident of Tecolotito. He attended schools in Anton Chico and Santa Rosa. Jose was a tractor mechanic in Tucumcari, NM for some 15 years. At a later date, he was a self-employed mechanic. In his spare time, Jose enjoyed riding motorcycles and doing leatherwork, however, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family and friends. Jose is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Juan Encinias. Jose is survived by his daughters: Debbie (Lawrence) Gomez of Anton Chico, Maria (Shane) Salisbury of Grants, NM and Matilda (Johnny) Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM and his son: Jose “JJ” Encinias of Tecolotito, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10AM on Monday, May 23, 2023 at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM, with Father Timothy J. Meurer as celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Tecolotito, NM with Pacifico Romero as Urn Bearer.
