Jon Christopher “Topher” Wilson, 49 of Durango, CO passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 following an illness. He was born January 13, 1972 in Odessa, TX to Doyle and Kathy (Fletcher) Wilson. Chris grew up in Farmington, NM and Ojo Sarco, NM area. He graduated from Penasco High School in 1990. After graduation Chris traveled to Germany, New York, and Georgia before he settled down in Durango, CO in 1994. He worked as a binder and printer for a couple of printing companies for many years. His hobbies included art, skateboarding, screen printing and hanging out with his friends. Chris is preceded in death by his father Doyle Wilson in 2020, grandparents Ira and Colleen Fletcher, grandparents Abenicio and Esther Sanchez; grandmother, Lakie Wilson; an uncle, James Sanchez, nephew; James Arias, and cousins; Michelle Salinas and Carol Fletcher. He is survived by his parents; Kathy and Gilbert Sanchez of Ojo Sarco, NM; his “big little” sister, Rachelle and Alex Arias of Tucumcari, NM; his grandfather Red Wilson; a nephew, Angel Vega and Leah of Tucumcari, NM; Nieces, Mercedes Vega and Carlos Marquez of Albuquerque, NM and Bryanna Arias of Las Cruces, NM; three great-nephews, Sebastian Marquez, Gideon Vega, and Cameron Marquez; a great-niece, Anastasia Vega. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends. A memorial service will be arranged sometime in the summer of 2022 in Durango,CO.
