Johnny Rodriguez, 60 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 25, 2021. He was born June 24, 1961 in Roswell, New Mexico to the home of Joe Estrada Rodriguez and Lupe Stogden Rodriguez. He grew up in Roswell and attended Roswell High School. In Roswell he worked in the maintenance department for Chama Rentals, and later a a mechanic for Ray Cordova Trucking. Johnny was an excellent wood worker, he built many wood pieces including rocking horses, jewelry boxes, toy boxes, and clocks. He sold many of these pieces and gave many as gifts to his family and friends. Johnny moved from Roswell to Clovis in 2000 and attended Legacy Church in Clovis, NM. He made his home in Fort Sumner in 2006. Johnny loved watching the news and always kept current on national and world events. He was a member of a Handyman Wood Workers group. Survivors include his life partner, Susan Gallegos of the home in Fort Sumner, five brothers Joe Rodriguez of Pueblo, CO, Jerry Rodriguez of San Antonio, TX, James Rodriguez of Moriarty, NM, Jesse Rodriguez of Roswell, and Jason Rodriguez of New Braunfels, TX. Also surviving are his step-children Charlene Gallegos of Fort Sumner, Andrea Maxwell of Fort Sumner, and Stephanie Lewis of Colorado Springs, CO, along with a host of grand, great-grand children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fort Sumner. Honorary bearers will include Carlos Gallegos, Nate Maxwell, Kayla Maxwell, Noah Maxwell, Jacob Maxwell, Monique Baldwin, Meagan Lewis, Devon Lewis, Isaiah Lewis, Eiljah Lewis, Alex Chavez, Chad Roybal, Ephriam Chavez, and Mike Gauna.
