Joe Mariano Paiz, 88 of Tucumcari, NM, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Joe Mariano was born on September 6, 1933 in Puerto De Luna, NM to Andres Paiz and Manuelita (Luna) Paiz. Joe Mariano was raised in Puerto De Luna, where he also attended school. On January 10, 1953, Joe Mariano married the former Annie Quintana in Chino, California. Joe Mariano worked for the Arch Hurley Conservancy District as a Ditch Rider and Broce Construction as a welder. Joe Mariano was also a “Jack of all Trades” as well as a bouncer. Joe Mariano was a parishioner at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari, NM. He was also willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Joe Mariano could always be found working around his home and he worked very hard to support his family. He found his greatest joy in the time he spent with his family. Joe Mariano is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister; Polly De Bord Martin. Joe Mariano is survived by his wife; Annie Paiz of the family home, his daughter; Elizabeth Paiz Andrada of Amarillo, TX, his grandchildren; Adam (Monica) Andrada of Amarillo, TX, Jacob Andrada of Tucumcari, NM, Ana Marie (Eric) Sandoval of Amarillo, TX, Jared Andrada of Amarillo, TX, seven Great-Grandchildren, one Great-Great-Grandchild and his brother; Mauricio Paiz of Sierra Vista, AZ, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family, relatives and friends. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 2 - 5 PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, then again on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, NM. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:30 PM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, NM. Mr. Paiz will be laid to rest at Tucumcari Memorial Park following the Mass with Adam Andrada, Jacob Andrada, Jared Andrada, Frank Paiz, Julian Paiz, and Ernest Paiz, serving as pallbearers.
