Jacqueline "Jackie" J. Urban

Jacqueline “Jackie” J. Urban, 59 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024 in Colonias, NM.

Jackie was born on February 12, 1965 in Santa Rosa to Emery Urban, Sr. and Cecelia (Hoehne) Urban. Jackie was raised in Santa Rosa, where she attended school—graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1983.

Jackie worked as a cashier in retail and in hotel housekeeping in Santa Rosa. A life-long Catholic, Jackie was a parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery. She also enjoyed listening to Country/Western music, Spanish and Rancheras and loved her cats Willow and Zena.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Emery Urban, Jr., maternal grandparents: Blas and Maria Hoehne, paternal grandparents: Marcus and Carlota Urban. 

Jackie is survived by her son: Daniel Grant of Santa Rosa, her sisters: Erma Romero (Robert) of Pecos, NM, Theresa Fuentes (Jerry) of Dalhart, TX, twin sister: Janet Padilla (Randy) of Belen, NM and very close cousin: Agnes Garcia. Nieces and nephews: Victoria Taylor (Hudson), Eugene Romero (Gabby), Rebekah Najar (Matthew), Amanda Henderson (Jake), Marcus Padilla (Jacque) and Veronica Maldonado (Eric), special great-nieces and nephews: Marcus R., Mason, Miriam, Mateo, Rylie, Poppy, Cece, Caleb, Naomi and Isaac, as well as other family and friends.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 beginning at 9:30AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Services will be officiated by Reverend Moses Nwankwo.

Interment will take place at 2pm at San Jose Cemetery in Colonias, NM with Marcus Padilla, Eugene Romero, Marcus R. Padilla, Eric Maldonado, Randy Padilla, Robert Romero, Matthew Najar and David Lopez serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Elizabeth Lisa Montaño, Dina Martinez, Patsy Linden, Lori Lucero, Matthew Gallegos and Roberta Blea.
