Harold Lemuel Hing, 64 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Harold was born on May 6, 1958 in Newton, New Jersey to Harold F. Hing and Joan (La Bar) Hing. Harold was raised in Newton and Great Meadows, NJ, and graduated high school from Hackets Town High School. Following graduation, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Harold made is home in Santa Rosa in 1983, and on November 19, 1983, he married the former Bertha Lopez. Together, they made their home in Santa Rosa, where Harold was employed by the Truck Stops of America. After 30 plus years of service, Harold retired in 2020. In his spare time, Harold liked to hunt, fish and garden. However, his greatest joy can from the time he spent with his grandchildren and family. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, his Hing and La Bar grandparents, his in-laws: Santos and Mela Lopez, his brother-in-law: Ray Lopez and sister-in-law: Toni Lopez. Harold is survived by his wife: Bertha Hing, his children: Bonnie Lopez, Desiree Hing (Chuy Granado), Lemmy Hing (Anissa Gutierrez) and Mela Ann Hing (Sammy Bojorquez), his grandchildren: Derek Montaño, Erika Montaño, Danny Arevalo, Hunter Lemuel Hing, Harold Lemuel Hing, III, and Sadie, Lori, Ryan, Brendan and Baylee Bojorquez. Harold is also survived by his siblings: Carol (Ralph) Blatterspiel, Trish Steele, Barbara Hing, Maggie McMurray, Robert Hing and Eddie Hing, sisters in law: Sally Austin (Sonny) and Mona Salazar(David) as well as numerous, nephews, nieces, family and friends. A Memorial Service for Harold will be Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11am at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Interment of cremains will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, with David Salazar, Jr., Davian Salazar and Sammy Borjorquez serving as Urn Bearers. Honorary Urn Bearers will include: Joey Muniz, Marty Pacheco, Benny Garza, David Salazar, Sr., James Dunagan, Gilbert Romero, Michael Muniz and Michael Romero.
