Guillermo Gutierrez, 65 of Albuquerque passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at his home. He was born September 4, 1955 in Fort Sumner the son of Willie and Dulcinea (Lopez) Gutierrez. He grew up in Fort Sumner where attended and graduated high school. Guillermo enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served with First Battalion, 41st Field Artillery as a Pershing Missle Crewman. He was honorably discharged on April 24, 1976. Guillermo worked for many years in construction as a concrete finisher. He enjoyed reading, watching TV, and crossword puzzles. Guillermo is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Gutierrez in 2015, his parents, and a sister Rosie Gutierrez. Survivors include three children, Will Gutierrez of Albuquerque and Jennifer Jimenez (Joe) of Albuquerque, a step son Robert DeLosSantos (Susan) of Albuquerque, a brother Joe "Tony" Gutierrez (Dela) of Santa Fe, and Nestor Gutierrez of California, along with 6 grandchildren, Santiago Lopez, Julian Lopez, Estrella Lopez, Amador Arranaga, Catarino DeLosSantos, Savino DeLosSantos, and a host of other family and many friends. Viewing and Visitation will be from 10am to 11am Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Holy Rosary followed by the funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Garden of Memory at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Gustavo Lopez, Joe Jimenez, Santiago Lopez, Julian Lopez, Michael Gauna, Robert Gutierrez, Rick Gutierrez, and Andy Gutierrez.
