Guadalupe "Richard" Gomez

Former Santa Rosa native, Richard Gomez, 73 passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his home in Rio Rancho, NM surrounded by his loved ones. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; Guadalupe R. and Rosa M. Gomez as well as his brother; Wilfred Gomez. Richard was a proud Vietnam veteran and a lifelong member of the Santa Rosa Volunteer Fire Department. He loved playing golf and painting beautiful pieces of art. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his wife; Lolanda Gomez of 51 years and his children; Ronda (David) Fernandez of Rio Rancho, Alfred (Lupita) Gomez of Houston, TX, Guadalupe (Amanda) Gomez of Rio Ranch, Shamus Gomez of Rio Rancho and a bonus daughter; Ramona Gomez of Santa Rosa. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Victorya, Kiana, Sirena, Riley, Amali, Anastasia, Joaquin, Lilly, Gavin and Abigail. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters; Fred (Pita) Gomez, Chris Gomez, Alsonso Gomez, Gilbert (Faby) Gomez, Georgia Gomez, Deborah (George) Lopez, and Dan (Cindy) Gomez, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. A rosary will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 7pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Rio Rancho. A rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Santa Rosa at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:30am with Father Sotero Sena officiating.
