Gabrielle “Gabby” Martinez, was born on September 24, 1998 in Las Cruces, NM where she found her passion for nature, wildlife and traveling-her favorite destination was Hawaii, and dreamed of one day living there. Gabrielle enjoyed hiking the Organ Mountains, kayaking down the Rio Grande, snowboarding, snorkeling, fishing, clay sculpting and spending time with her dog, Penny. Gabrielle was raised in Las Cruces, where she attended both Oñate High School and Las Cruces High School and later attended Doña Ana Community College. While in high school, Gabrielle participated in soccer and volleyball, FHA and was member of the Media Magnet Program. Gabrielle was a parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary and The Newman Center. Gabrielle’s work experience included waitressing and bartending, as well as a Pharmacy Tech. However, Gabrielle’s dream was to become a realtor. Gabrielle was loved all and was loved by all who crossed paths with her. She had a contagious laugh that captivated everyone. Gabrielle was radiant and could enchant you with a single look, which made one feel welcome. Gabrielle is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Joe Eddie and Elizabeth Martinez, her maternal grandparents: Louis and Anelia Cde Baca, Jr., her aunt: Gloria Cde Baca and cousin: Sarah Calderon. Gabrielle is survived by her mother: Linda Martinez of Las Cruces, NM, her father Martin Martinez of Santa Rosa, NM, boyfriend: Dillon Nunn, brother: Derek (Marina) Martinez of Auburn, WA and sister: Mariah Martinez of Las Cruces, paternal uncles and aunts: Frances (Dean) Calderon, Jeff (Fran) Martinez, Paul (Noel) Martinez, Joey (Hope) Martinez and Leslie (Danny) Bradley, maternal uncles and aunts: Rita Lucero, Tom (Gail) Cde Baca, Chris (Terry) Cde Baca and Joseph (Rosa) Cde Baca, nieces: Aralynn, Abigail and Amelia Martinez and nephew: Bryson Lewis. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 1-4pm at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, NM. Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11am at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial, with Father Christopher Bernabe officiating. Interment will follow at Nuestra Señora Del Refugio Cemetery in Puerto De Luna, NM, with Parker Lancaster, Preston Lancaster, Cameron Roberts, P.J.
