Flora G. Martinez

Flora G. Martinez, 90 of Tucumcari, NM and most recently of Los Lunas, NM, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 29, 2020. Flora was born on July 24, 1930 in Puerto De Luna, NM to Ricardo Griego and Aurora (Sanchez) Griego. Flora was raised in Puerto De Luna where she also attended school. She was married to Jose O. Martinez in Tucumcari, NM where she made her home. Flora very much enjoyed reading and was also a parishioner at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. Flora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who truly cherished the time she spent with her family. Flora is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Jose O. Martinez in 1996, her sons; Jose (Pepe) Martinez in 1992, Martin Martinez and Melvin Martinez in 2007. Flora is survived by her daughters; Joann Valverde of Tucumcari, NM, Patricia Martinez of Los Lunas, NM and Karyn Martinez Kitts of Bosque Farms, NM, her sisters; Linda Griego of Santa Fe, NM and Isabel Griego of Albuquerque, NM, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren as well an numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. Flora will be laid to rest at Tucumcari Memorial Park with Ervin Hernandez, Chris Leyba, Steven Martinez, Salomon Valverde, Jeremiah Sims and Julian Kitts serving as Pallbearers.
