Esther Evelyn (Smith) Nisbet died May 15, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona, born August 18, 1921 in Denver, Colorado to John “Jack” C. and Francis L. (Adair) Smith. Esther was a graduate of North High School in 1939, attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado one school year, and then completed nurses training at St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado. She then attended the University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado as a public health student, followed by employment with the Denver Public Schools as a school nurse. In March of 1945 she married William “Don” D. Nisbet and they had two sons. Esther is preceded in death by her parents John “Jack” C. and Francis L. (Adair) Smith. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband William “Don” D. Nisbet of 73 years; her sons Larry E. (Ruth) of Centennial, Colorado; and John “Jack” W. (Cindy) of Tucson, Arizona; Four Grandchildren; and Four Great-Grandchildren. A funeral service for Esther was held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St Francis in the Valley, 600 South La Cañada Drive, Green Valley, AZ 85614. Interment was held at 5pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Nisbet family plot at Fort Sumner Cemetery, Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
