Estevan “Tete” Madrid, 74 of Vaughn, NM, passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, January 14, 2022. Estevan was born on September 2, 1947 in Vaughn, NM to Eulalio and Jacoba (Sisneros) Madrid. Estevan was raised in Vaughn, where he also attended school. He was a carpenter and contractor by trade. Estevan also owned the Shell Gasoline Station in Vaughn and also worked for BNSF in the railroad industry, as well as Renzenberger Railroad Transportation. When not working, Estevan enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, and also enjoyed a cold Budweiser while visiting. Estevan is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters: Patsy Madrid, Rosana Adkins and Amelia Madrid. Estevan is survived by his brother: Manuel “Mel” Madrid (Rita) and his sisters: Betty Martinez, Terry Madrid (Chayo), Fatima Garcia (Florencio) and Sylvia Rodriguez (E.J.). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, relatives and friends. Urn Bearers will be: Jacee Armijo and Edwin Garcia. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 12 noon at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn, NM, with Deacon Marvin Marquez presiding.
