Emma Sena, 90 of Clovis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 with her family at her bedside. She was born March 20, 1931 in Alamogordo Creek, NM, the daughter of Aurelio and Royita “Reyes” (Baca) Lopez. Her family moved to Fort Sumner following the construction of the Alamogordo Dam. Emma attended schools in Fort Sumner. She married Daniel Sena on May 11, 1952 in Fort Sumner. They made their home in Clovis in 1990. Emma was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family. They especially loved her homemade tortillas. Emma loved spending time with her family. According to her family, Emma was a talented seamstress and kept a super clean home. She enjoyed visiting garage sales. Emma is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Daniel Sena on April 1, 2020, two daughters Irene Sena in 2017, Kathy Sena in 1970, her parents Aurelio Lopez in 1973 and Royita Lopez in 1941, three sisters, Mary Ann Lopez in 1945, Elvira Orta in 1998, Rosa Lucero in 2018, and a brother Abel Lopez in 1949. Emma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by her children, two daughters Leona Samora of Clovis, Mary Zamora (Oracio) of Clovis, two sons Bobby Sena of Clovis and Jerry Sena (Karen) of Lubbock, TX along with 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, one brother Dario Lopez (Ellen) of Fort Sumner, and an aunt Erlinda Lopez of Fort Sumner, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, May 08, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fort Sumner, NM with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Emma's grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.
