Emery Urban Jr

Emery Urban Jr., 57, a longtime Santa Rosa resident passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Guadalupe County Hospital following a brief illness. Emery was born on October 10, 1960, in Colonias, NM to the home of Emerenciano Sr and Cecilia (Hoehne) Urban. He was reared in Colonias and attended school in Santa Rosa graduating from Santa Rosa High School and later took courses at Luna Community College. A lifelong Catholic he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Emery was a longtime rancher and served as a board member on the Guadalupe County Soil Conservation. Emery is preceded in death by his parents Emerenciano and Cecilia Urban. Survivors include his sisters: Erma Romero (Robert) of Pecos, NM, Theresa Fuentes (Jerry) of Dalhart, TX, Jackie Urban of Santa Rosa, NM and Janet Padilla (Randy) of Rio Communities, NM, nephews and nieces Victoria Romero, Eugene Romero, Rebekah Romero, Amanda Henderson, Daniel Grant, Marcus Padilla, Veronica Maldonado (Goddaughter) (Eric), and numerous great-nephews and nieces. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 10 am from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Burial of cremains will immediately follow at San Jose Cemetery in Colonias, NM. Services have been entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S. Third St., Santa Rosa, NM. 575-472-3369
