Vera was a strong, hardworking woman who touched the lives of many people around her.

Vera was born to Antonio and Dolores (Maestas) Romero in San Ignacio, New Mexico, where she spent her childhood growing up. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Reynaldo (2-T) Campos Jr., the father of her children Reynaldo Campos Sr., her late husband Eddy Abeyta, and several siblings: Bonney, Piedad, Roberto, Joaquin, Andres, Cecilia, and Raynaldo.

Survivors include her daughters: Patricia and Frank Gerhardt of PDL, Anastasia and Arthur of Santa Rosa, and Consuelo of Roswell. Along with special friends and neighbors Leroy and Annie Campos and Dave and Sandy Sanchez, and Richard and Roberta Blea. Along with many nieces nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Vera enjoyed various hobbies such as gardening, crochet, embroidery, quilting, and jewelry making. Throughout her life, Vera worked tirelessly to provide for her family. She was a headstrong and hardworking individual who worked at several restaurants in the 1960s and 1970s. Later, she worked at Sprouse Reitz for many years, where she wore her fancy high heels with pride. After that, she worked at Truckstops of America in various roles, including cashier, waitress, shop manager, restaurant manager, and fuel desk manager. Everyone who knew her affectionately called her "Grandma Vera," a testament to her kind heart and loving nature.

In her later years, Vera dedicated herself to home healthcare, visiting clients and bringing joy to their lives. Above all, she cherished time with her family and loved being surrounded by them.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Helping Hand Hospice of Tucumcari, particularly Rissa, Sandy, and Grace, for their tender care and support during Vera's final days. They also wish to express their appreciation to Dr. Phillips and Dr. Overton of Sunrise Medical Group for their dedicated medical care and guidance throughout her journey.

Private services will be held at a later date to celebrate Vera's life.
