Elizabeth Gallegos

Elizabeth Rose Gallegos, 65 was born February 16, 1959 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico the daughter of Jose Guadalupe and Rosie Gallegos. She passed away January 22,2025 in Tucson, Arizona. Elizabeth and her husband Robert Brown made their home in Payson, Arizona. Elizabeth was employed with the Arizona Department of Employment since 2013.

Elizabeth suffered a severe fall in her home in Payson, AZ in April 2024. She received medical care in Payson before being transferred to in Mesa, Arizona in May then to a convalescent home in Tucson where she remained through June 2024. Since June, Elizabeth was being cared for by her mother, Rosie in her home until the evening of January 22, 2025 when she passed away surrounded by her family.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her father Guadalupe Gallegos on April 3, 2016 and a great-niece, Faith Noel Vialpando on June 1, 2005.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Robert Brown of Payson, AZ, a daughter Requela Williamson of Tucson, her mother Rosie Gallegos of Tucson, a grandson Oliver Montgomery of Tucson, a brother Robert Gallegos of Canton, PA, four sisters Kathy Ballinger of Concho Valley, AZ, Tina Gallegos of Tucson, Joanna Trujillo (Bobby) of Tucson and Emily Rose Gallegos of Tucson. Other survivors include nine nephews and nieces, 20 great nieces, 10 great nephews, along with 7 step nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. (The cremated remains of Faith will be interred with Elizabeth)

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 29, 2025 from St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Jacob Romero officiating. Interment of cremains will follow in the family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery.

The cremated remains of her great-niece, Faith Noel Vialpando (09/12/2001 - 06/01/2005) will be interred with Elizabeth. Faith is the daughter of Gene Vialpando and Brandy Reed, a sister to Gabriel Vialpando and Xander Vialpando, granddaughter of Kathy Ballinger, and great-granddaughter of Rosie Gallegos.
