Debbie Lynn Archuleta, age 58 of Fort Sumner passed away Tuesday evening March 06, 2018 at Rust Presbyterian Hospital in Rio Rancho, NM following an illness. She was born November 30, 1959 in Bell Gardens, CA to the home of Frank Gilbert Halbert and Mary Louise Joe Lineberger. Debbie grew up in El Monte, California where she attended school. She graduated from Arroyo High School in El Monte with the Class of 1977. She attended Brymans School of Dentistry in Pasadena, CA. She worked for Golden State Dental in Compton, CA as a dental assistant and in management for over 20 years. Debbie married Tim N. Archuleta on February 19, 1983 in El Monte, CA. They made their home in Fort Sumner in 1995. Debbie continued her education at Clovis Community College for two years. She also volunteered at the Fort Sumner Housing Authority and served in the prison ministry through her church, The Church on The Hill.Debbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved raising her family, spent many hours picking asparagus, fishing, photography, fixing puzzles with her family. She was also a professional shopper.Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Jasper Lopez in 2013, niece Wendy Sharp in 1989, her father in law Luis Archuleta and sister in law Felicia Archuleta Sanchez.Survivors include her husband of 35 years Tim N. Archuleta of Fort Sumner, two sons Eric Archuleta (Amy) of Clovis, Christopher Archuleta (Brittany) of Fort Sumner, a daughter Ashley Lopez (Fernando) of Fort Sumner, four sisters Cindy Wood (Mont) of Beryl, Utah, Carla Britt (Danny) of Cedar City, Utah, Geneva Pruitt (Greg) of Garden Grove, CA, and Colleen Miller (Gene) of Enid, Oklahoma, her mother in law Regina Archuleta of Pojoaque, NM along with ten grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Visitation hours will be at the Chavez Funeral Home on Friday from 1pm to 6pm.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2018 at The Church on the Hill in Fort Sumner with Pastor Anna Teeter-Gentile officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Santiago Lopez, Daniel Britt, Grant Oxenrider, Julian Lopez, Marcos Archuleta, David Archuleta, Gregory Sharp, and Gregory Pruitt. Honorary bearers will include Bill Moore, Tony Garcia, Ray Garcia, Fernando Lopez, Julian Sanchez, Edward Sanchez, Miguel Sanchez, Leo Roybal, Jonathan Valdez, and Tanner Britt.All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
