David Sena

David Sena, 61 of Albuquerque passed away Sunday, June 07, 2020 at Rust Presbyterian Hospital in Rio Rancho following an illness. He was born June 12, 1958 in Fort Sumner to the home of Anastacio A. and Antonia (Saiz) Sena. David attended Fort Sumner Schools and Eastern New Mexico Univeristy. He married the love of his life, Mary F. Betancourt on August 20, 1981 in Albuquerque. They loved each other for 43 years and that bond will never be broken. David was the type of guy that if you asked for help, before you could put your phone down, he was there. There was always a smile on his face, he began the conversation with a joke and always ended the night, making someone laugh. His pastimes included fishing, camping, golfing, and hunting. One of his proudest moments, was a hunting trip, he shot two bucks (Que-Sapo) with one bullet. David worked as a sales representative for a plumbing company in Albuquerque for many years. He is preceded in death by his father, Anastacio Sena in 2007, and a niece Cindy Sena in 2001. Survivors include his wife Mary F. Sena, three sons, David (Monique) Sena, Mario (Alexis) Sena, and Joshua Sena all of Albuquerque. His mother, Antonia Sena of Fort Sumner, two sisters Marcy (Joe) Garcia of Clovis, Barbara Pacheco of Alamogordo, five brothers George (Martha) Sena of Fort Sumner, Rev. Father Sotero A. Sena of Fort Sumner, Jerry Sena of Clovis, Anastacio (Theresa) Sena Jr. of Fort Sumner, and Carlos Sena of Fort Sumner. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, David Sena III, Angel Sena, Nathan Sena, Milan Sena, Joaquin Sena, Andres Sena, Sophia Sena, Vivian Sena, and Baby Luna. Holy rosary followed by the funeral Mass was held at 10:00 am Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner with David's brother, Rev. Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Cremation followed the services. Interment of the cremains will be at a later date in the family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Social Distancing Guidelines, seating was limited to the immediate family. Pallbearers will include Milan Sena, Joaquin Sena, Carlos Sena Jr., Jacob Marez, Daniel Sena, Andres Sena, Bobby Betancourt, and Jeremy Sena. We ask that you keep David's family in your prayers.
