David J. Brown

David J. Brown, 70 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. David suffered from dementia/Alzheimer’s for approximately 8 years. David was born on November 15, 1951 in Charleston, West Virginia, to David J. Brown and Anna Marie (Roach) Brown. David was raised in Charleston, where he also attended school. David worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan, for U.S. Steel in Ohio and for Brinks in Arizona, as an armored transport driver. On July 8, 2006, David married the former Roberta Zamora in West Virginia. In August 2018, David and Roberta made their home in Santa Rosa. David was retired from the Army National Guard and was a member of the Baptist Church. In his spare time, David enjoyed working on his cars, fishing, attending drag races and working around the house. David is preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother: Harold and sisters: Elizabeth, Brenda and Ruth Monroe—and brother-in-law: Robert Zamora. David is survived by his wife Roberta, of the family home, his children: Christina Marie Brown and Chad Brown, of Elyria, Ohio, his sisters: Carrie (Bob) Schlawin, Dorothy Heaton, Carolyn Brown, Connie Brown and friend: Pamela, and his brother: David Lee (Maxine) Roach, his mother-in-law: Julia Zamora and companion, JR., his In-laws: Ray (Susan) Zamora of Santa Rosa, Johnny (Veronica) Zamora of Chama, Jake (Silvia) Zamora of Villanueva, Christine (Gilbert) Sanchez of Santa Rosa, Justin (Rebecca) Zamora of Santa Rosa and Sunshine Zamora of Santa Rosa, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. The family wishes to thank Helping Hands Hospice, and especially LouAnna Gutierrez for her compassionate help. Services for David will be Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11am at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa with Deacon Marvin Marquez officiating.
