David “Sap” Baca, 64 of Albuquerque, NM passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 2, 2021. David was born on December 9, 1956 in Santa Rosa, NM to Frank Baca and Clorie (Nelson) Baca. David was raised and attended school in Santa Rosa, graduating from Santa Rosa High School. He was married to Frances Madrid on April 16, 1977. David made Albuquerque his home in 1980, where he worked for Ironworkers Union 495, retiring in 2010. David enjoyed gardening and was an artist who loved to work with his hands painting flagstone, welding and landscaping. In terms of sports, David was a Raiders fan! David is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Joe Albert “JG” Baca and Martin “Pache” Baca and his sister; Carolyn Baca. David is survived by his son; Nicholas Baca and daughter; Jenni Baca, his grandchildren; Madison Baca, Gio Velasquez, Marcus Baca, Araiya Velasquez and Niko Velasquez, the mother of his children; Frances Madrid and his siblings; Frances “Kika” Baca, Antoinette (Steve) Montgomery, Anna Baca, Jimmy Baca, Alex (Kathleen) Baca, Leroy (Debra) Baca and Leo (Maria) Moya as well as numerous family, relatives and friends. Services will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. A eulogy will be given at 10:45am followed by the Memorial Mass at 11am officiated by Father Sotero Sena. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa with Madison Baca, Gio Velasquez, Marcus Baca, Araiya Velasquez and Niko Velasquez serving as Urn Bearers.
