Clara A Gonzales

Clara A. Gonzales, 76, a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, passed away on Thursday evening, October 10, 2019, at Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa with her family at her side. Clara was born on February 28, 1943, in Cuervo, NM to the home of Felix and Eva (Griego) Sierra. Clara was united in marriage to Roy H. Gonzales in Santa Rosa, NM on September 29, 1962. A lifelong Catholic, Clara was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.   Clara is preceded in death by her parents Felix and Eva Sierra; brothers, Daniel Lee and Eugene Sierra; sister, Rosemary (Phil) Cordova; honorary brother Robert Griego; and numerous aunts and uncles.   Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Roy H. Gonzales of the family home in Santa Rosa, NM; Son, Dennis Gonzales and wife Anna of Las Vegas, NM; daughters, Monique Gonzales and husband Carlos and Yolette Gallegos and husband Frank all of Santa Rosa, NM; son, Francisco (Yasmine) Gonzales of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Erik Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM, Lucas Gonzales of Las Vegas, NM, Alec Gonzales, Javier (Anjelika) Gallegos and Eva Gallegos all of Santa Rosa, NM; great-grandchildren, Max Gonzales and Jaylani Gallegos; sister, Yvette Rivera and husband David of Santa Rosa; brothers, Ralph Sierra and wife Celina of Las Vegas, NM, Steve Sierra and wife Dolores of Moriarty, NM, and Gene Sierra and wife Angela of Albuquerque, NM; other survivors include a host of nephews, nieces, family, and many friends.   Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 10 AM from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM with Father Christopher Bernabe celebrating the Mass. Clara will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa, NM with the following serving as pallbearers; Francisco Gonzales, Alec Gonzales, Javier Gallegos, Eva Gallegos, Lucas Gonzales, Daniel Lee Sierra, Erik Gonzales, Jared Sierra, Yazmine Ortiz, and Anjelika Maestas. Honorary pallbearers will be John Perea, Lydia Griego, Ida Lopez, Tina Silva, Anjelica Flores, Greg Gallegos, Leslie Sanchez, Sam Griego, Natalie Lopez, and all her nieces and nephews.            All services have been entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
