Christopher Martinez

Christopher Aaron Scott Martinez, 28, of Tucumcari, NM unexpectedly passed away on July 18, 2023 at his home.

Christopher was born on December 09, 1994 in Tucumcari to Jennifer Nicole Marquart and Pete Anthony Martinez Jr. Christopher made his home Tucumcari, where he attended Tucumcari Schools along with a few years at Carlsbad High School. Christopher worked for a time at Parker Energy as a mechanic on the oil rigs in Eunice before returning home to Tucumcari. He was known as a jack of all trades, and worked many various handy man jobs in Tucumcari. Christopher was a Muslim, and dedicated his life to Allah.

Christopher loved being a dad and the time he got to spend playing with his sons. He enjoyed camping, and all kinds of music. He was a very happy, helpful, and outgoing boy, who always stopped to speak to anyone and everyone.

Christopher is preceded in death by his infant brother: Pete Anthony Martinez IV, his paternal grandfather: Pete Martinez Sr, and maternal grandmother: Christi Bogart, as well as his aunt Jacqueline Martinez.

Christopher is survived by his sons: Christopher Martinez Jr and Eli Martinez, his girlfriend and mother of his unborn baby: Nicole Romero, his mother and step father: Jennifer and Rudy Urioste, his father and stepmother: Pete and Nicole Martinez, brother: Nano (Penny) Martinez, brother: Henry Martinez, brother: Johnathon Martinez, sister: Vivian Martinez, sister: Lori (Dominic) Ortiz, sister: Juliana Sanchez, sister: Marisela Cordova, sister: Kasara Urioste, and sister: Jacelyn all of Tucumcari,  brother: Antonio Apodaca, sister: Devyn (David) Cordova, brother: Lincoln Urioste all of Albuerque, brother: Michael Gonzales of Las Cruces, brother: Josh Urioste and sister: Angelica Urisote both of Amarillo, TX.  Also surviving are paternal grandmother: Loretta Martinez, and maternal grandfather: Leroy Bogart both of Tucumcari. Christopher is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be Thursday, July 27, 2023, beginning at 10AM, followed by Funeral Services starting at 11AM at Tucumcari High School Auditorium in Tucumcari, NM with Pastor Derek Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery with Rudy Urioste, Jordan Young, CJ Martinez, Cylas Martinez, Randolf Dominguez, Henry Martinez, Brandon Romero, Dennis Hendren, Dylan Hendren, Lucian Martinez, and Ike Ingram serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nano, Pete, Orlando, Joseph, Johnathon, Scotty, Randy, Roy, Dom, Lonnie, Clayton, Michael, Michelle, and Sammy.
